Cicely Mary Barker Flower Fairies
From the Enchanted World of Flower Fairies comes this exquisite collection by English Illustrator, Cicely Mary Barker (28 June 1895 – 16 February 1973). Barker’s art education began with correspondence courses at the Croydon School of Art. Her professional career started out with creating greeting cards and juvenile magazine illustrations. Cicely Mary Barker’s first book, Flower Fairies of the Spring, was published in 1923
The Flower Fairies™ figurines you see here were the creation of turn of the century artist Cicely Mary Barker. Although she claims never to have actually seen one, these are the results of her fanciful creative endeavors. Approximately 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches in height, each flower fairy varies slightly in size depending on their position. Each Flower Fairy is cast from polystone resin and beautifully hand painted with intricate detailing. They are made of resin and are finely detailed. A joy to collect!
Flower fairies will fade in sunlight. We recommend spraying the Flower Fairies with a clear matte UV resistant coating, if subjected to sunlight. Display them with the gold cord or use the 6 inch wire pick provided to decorate flower arrangements, plants or gift baskets. Flower Fairies™ are a special gift that all ages enjoy collecting. These resin delights come as stand-ups on bases or hanging Flower Fairies.
Flower Fairies on bases are being discontinued, so don't delay to complete your collection, since there is limited availability! They are great collectibles.
